Colby Cockrell, DMD

Educational Background

Dr. Colby Cockrell was born and raised in Olympia and has always called Western Washington home. After graduating from theUniversity of Washington in 2003, he attended dental school at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts where he graduated in 2008.

He worked for two years in North Carolina, practicing dentistry in the military town of Jacksonville before moving back home to Olympia in the spring of 2010.

Treatment Philosophy

Dr. Cockrell believes in customized treatment plans for each patient – not a one size fits all approach that you may find elsewhere. He believes that dental treatment should be tailored to fit each individual patient’s needs, not to satisfy the dentist providing the treatment.

To that end, Dr. Cockrell’s treatment philosophy is not to “sell” patients on treatment, but to advise each patient as to their options for a given problem. He believes strongly in preventative and proactive care to avoid future (and often times more costly) problems.

Personal Stuff

Colby is an avid sports fan - if you didn't know the score of last night's game, you'll probably hear about it while you're in the office. He also enjoys golf, skiing and taking in the occasional rock concert.

Dr. Cockrell is married and has two sons - three-year-old Cameron, newborn baby Carter as well as a cat and two dogs.
